Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in Uganda, has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its remarkable biodiversity, particularly its significant population of mountain gorillas. Nestled on the boundary of the Albertine Rift Valley, the park supports more than 120 species of mammals, approximately 350 species of birds, and around 400 species of plants. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site in southwestern Uganda, famous for sheltering almost half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. Translating to “place of darkness,” the dense, ancient rainforest spans 321 square kilometers and ranges in altitude from 1,160 to 2,607 meters.
